“If the bee disappeared off the face of the earth, man would only have four years left to live.”

Honey bees are considered to be one of the greatest creatures that our planet is gifted with. Their immense usefulness in our daily lives, owe our thankfulness. The world would have been quite different without these beautiful organisms. Thus, it’s our sole responsibility to provide responsible protection and nourishments to these lovely creatures. From the ancient times honey bees are known for their vast application in crop productivity and production of various different products.  However, the same, are prey for the various devastating pests.

The greater wax moth (GWM) Galleria mellonell L. is a highly destructive insect that destroys bee-wax combs and cause death of honey bees. This influenced the researchers to find out the potential agent to protect these “ancient agents of pollination” from the cruel hands of these highly destructive pests. The use of homeopathic drug Lodium and Essential Oil Thyme on GWM resulted in a decrease in the hatching. Although, an increase in the mortality of GWM larvae was found, with increase in concentration of thyme and lodium a varied degree of decrease in hatching was indicated.
