A Green way to combat Breast Cancer

bioxone September 6, 2020September 6, 2020

–Biswadeep Sen, Amity University Kolkata

Breast cancer is one of the most common diseases found in the modern day. Luckily, a novel aspect is now coming into light in-order to combat the seemingly impossible disease. The Auric Nanoparticles, are the new devices that are being heavily relied on for many biomedical aspects. More importantly, a green syntheses of the Nanoparticles, from the fruit extracts of Bael, Eugenia jambolena and Soursop have provided a better result and a more natural aspect of dealing with the Cancer.

The flavonoids present in the in the fruit extracts are great reducing agents for the Gold Nanoparticles while the carboxylate group takes care of the stabilisation of the same.

These phytochemicals, capping the AuNPs act upon the cancer cells rendering them useless. The microvasculature present in the Cancerous tumor  helped the AuNPs reach the cells and destroy them. The MCF-7 Human breast Cancer cells showed a 60% senescence at a concentration of 120 ug/ml.
