Name of the Project: “In vitro studies to investigate the therapeutic approach of editing the defective exon 3 of the human CHST6 gene associated with Macular Corneal Dystrophy through the CRISPR-Cas9 technology”

Name of the PI: Dr Surya Prakash Goud Ponnam

Age limit: Candidate shall not be more than 28 years of age as on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed as per the Government of India Rules.

Interested applicants, highly motivated for a research career, are advised to send an advance copy of their application to the Principal Investigator, Dr Surya Prakash Goud Ponnam, Assistant Professor, Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University, Napaam, Assam with email (surya_p@tezu.ernet.in or surya.bio1@gmail.com) within 9th of November 2020 and/or can appear before the interview board together with all original documents and also self-attested xeroxes of mark sheets and certificates from 10th standard onwards, testimonials, caste certification (if applicable), certificate of NET/GATE/BET/ ICMRJRF or a similar examination, experience certificate (if any), a recent signed Curriculum Vitae (CV) and 2 recent passport size photos on the day of the interview.

N.B.

  1. No TA/DA will certainly be paid for attending the interview.
  2. Those in employment or doing PhD has to submit ‘No Objection Certification’ from the concerned employer / PhD Supervisor.
  3. Under special circumstances, interview through video conferencing mode may be considered.

Essential qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Human Genetics / Life sciences / Zoology / Biochemistry or allied Sciences or M.E./M.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate and qualified NET/GATE/BET/ICMR-JRF entrance examinations or similar examination.

Desirable: Candidate having prior research experience in the field of “Genome editing” or handling mammalian cell cultures is preferable.

Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- (Rupees thirty-one thousand) only plus HRA as admissible per month.
