More about Fractional Response Analysis

bioxone December 18, 2020December 18, 2020

Richismita Hazra, Amity University Kolkata

Single-cell signaling responses are now measurable, but their interpretation is still restricted. Interpretation of dose-response based on single-cell data is also not accurately predictable. Here, probabilistic modeling and information-theory have been used to inaugurate fractional response analysis (FRA). This technique quantifies changes in the fraction of cells with provided response levels and can be invariably accomplished for heterogeneous, multivariate, and dynamic measurements.

This research shows that fractional response to type I interferon in human blood mononuclear cells are similar across different cell types although there are differences in mean or median responses. Demonstration of fractional response to cytokines has also been dealt with in this study which uncovers the sensitivity of the cellular population to fold-changes in the dose, as against additive alterations.

Weber-Fechner Law is resembled by the sensitivity to dose fold0-changes in cell populations. Thi study shows that the response to the stimuli of cellular populations that is quantitatively close to the perception of differences in certain situations.

New metabolic methods for the treatment of Glaucoma

bioxone December 19, 2020

PRIYANKA CHAKRABORTY, AMITY UNIVERSITY, KOLKATA The incurable eye disease Glaucoma leads to partial or total vision loss in approximately 80 million people. Therefore, it was extremely crucial to find a way around this complicated disease; the relation between metabolic disturbance in the nerve cells in the retina and high intraocular pressure. Moreover, in animal models, […]

Understanding Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder with High-Functioning Autism in Teenagers

bioxone October 20, 2020October 20, 2020

Rohit Bhattacharjee, Amity University, Kolkata Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is separated from other anxiety disorders and classified under the new category of Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders (OCRDs). Hence the treatment of Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is different, and the neuroanatomical target of therapy should also be unique as compared to other anxiety disorders. The Centres for Disease Control […]
