What secret did the Italian doctors uncover to prove that the COVID-19 is a bacterium, not a virus as advocated by the WHO guidelines? Italy was one of the European Nation’s which bore the brunt of COVID-19 pandemic accounting for over for 7.2% of deaths recorded across the Globe with hospitals running out of infrastructure and the country’s administration losing direction in dealing with the situation.
The situation was such that no treatment protocol could put a brake on the deaths and while one section of the Doctors was busy attending to the patients, there was another group of scientists/ researchers busy trying to unravel the myth of whether or not COVID is a virus. It is said that anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics can cure COVID-19 but at the same time the Doctor’s world over believe that there is no role of antibiotics in treating coronavirus but these are administered to resist secondary or collateral bacterial infections. The clinical management aims at improving the immunity factor as a major tool in fighting COVID-19.
Italian Doctors observed that thrombosis or blood clot is the cause and not pneumonia. The contemporary world belief says that thrombosis or coagulation of blood cells or blood clots is a frequent complication found in COVID-19 patients but simultaneously, the deaths of COVID patients’ due to this is accounting for less than 20%. However, there is no scientific evidence that confirms thrombosis as the major cause of COVID-19 death.
As also foreseen by the Italian Doctors that the COVID patients do not require ventilators and intensive care units for treatment were slashed by the world contemporaries saying that, “Most deaths are due to interstitial pneumonia and respiratory failures and to say that the patients should not be incubated is completely outrageous”. The medical fraternity across Nations have different notions on the exact treatment regime for curing COVID – 19 patients and different nations followed different protocols. While the world ponders over the myth of whether Corona is a virus or bacterium, let’s stay safe hoping for an appropriate vaccine.

Disease tolerance mechanism in sepsis patients identified!
Prama Ghosh, Amity University Kolkata Sepsis, a complication caused by dysregulation of the immune system causes around 11 million deaths every year in the world. Treatment includes antibiotics and organ support measures, but it fails many times due to unsuccessful attempts at modulating the immune response. Surviving the condition requires activation of resistance mechanisms which […]
