HIDDEN MOLECULAR SYSTEMS BEHIND DISEASE PATHOGENESIS – REVEALED!!

bioxone September 22, 2020September 22, 2020

– Prama Ghosh, Amity University Kolkata

Analysis of single cells is essential in order to study the molecular mechanisms of cellular functions. Recently, hidden molecular systems that lead to disease pathogenesis in patients is revealed – thanks to Single-cell genomics. Being a combination of technologies, it can uncover many hidden processes of biological systems.

Molecular pathology analysis of cardiac biopsy samples and isolation of single-cell RNA sequencing profiles of Cardiomyocytes – the principal component of heart, revealed the profiles of genes causing heart failure due to stress.

Integration of single cells articulation profiles of ligands and receptors in lung tissue, generated a communication map between cells, which recognized eosinophils as fundamental signal mediators in the lung. The observations also revealed an increment in the communications of endothelial cells during maturing.

In the days to come, approaches of single-cell genomics will prompt huge enhancements on biological research leading to improvements in treating patients worldwide.

Life beyond our planet Earth

bioxone September 22, 2020

-Subhrajit Barua, ITMO University, St. Petersburg, Russia For numerous centuries, human beings have wondered how life came into existence. Many religious and philosophical ideologies have been put forward but none of them have been satisfactory. Some argue that life emerged on Earth itself from non-living chemical compounds through the process of abiogenesis. Many theories have […]

Monitoring the variation in Urinary NMR metabolome

bioxone July 29, 2021July 29, 2021

Saakshi Bangera,  DY Patil School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Metabolomics is the study of metabolites in a biological sample. These studies enhance our understanding of the consequences of diet on metabolomic pathways. Intra and interindividual variations differ on various levels among metabolites. The metabolomic composition of biological fluids is influenced by numerous factors such as […]

Effect of pollution on thyroxine levels in newborns

BioTech Today July 10, 2021July 9, 2021

Esha Mohite, MGM’s College of Engineering and Technology Effect of pollution on baby’s general development: The bond between a mother and her baby is powerful like no other. A baby’s first-ever human contact is with its mother. The mother’s body nourishes its baby and protects it. The placental cord plays a significant role in developing […]
