According to the clinical study published in the Journal of American Heart Association, it found out that postmenopausal women who ate unquestionable degrees of plant proteins had decreases risks of sudden death, dementia-related deaths, and cardiovascular infections as compared to the women who consumed few amounts of plant proteins. Researchers analyzed the data from more than 100,000 postmenopausal women ranging between 50-79 years of age. At the time of enrollment, the participants completed questionnaires regarding their diets. During the time of the study period, a total of 25,976 death occurred (6,993 from cardiovascular diseases, 2,734 from dementia, and 7,516 from cancer).
The key findings of researchers were that postmenopausal women, who had the least amount of protein intake to those with that of the highest amounts of plant protein intake had a death risk of less than 9%, 12% lower risk from cardiovascular diseases, and 21% lower risk from dementia-related cases. Increased consumption of processed red meat was directly linked to a 20% higher risk of dementia-related deaths while unprocessed meat, eggs, and dairy products were linked to a 12%, 24%, and 11% higher risk of cardiovascular disease-related deaths.
Metadata: Studies have proven that women who consume a plant-based diet after their menopause have a less percentage of death risk in comparison to women with a meat-consuming percentage.
