DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS, PGIMER, CHANDIGARH

Name of the Post: Scientist C (Non-medical)

Name of the Project: “Comparison of the efficacy of a 7 days versus 14 day course of intravenous antibiotics in the treatment of uncomplicated neonatal bacterial sepsis: a randomized controlled non–inferiority trial”

Name of the PI: Dr Sourabh Dutta

Tenure: The post is purely on contract basis and will be extendable periodically up until the project finishes.

Age: Not exceeding 40 years.

How to Apply:

  • Interested candidates might email PDF of soft copy of (max) 2-page bio-data to pgisocialworker@gmail.com before 2 pm on Wednesday, 25th November 2020. Scanned soft copies of BSc, MSc, PhD, BDS degrees and experience certificates for research experience must be sent out in addition to the biodata. Bio-data must include email address, personal mobile number and one alternate mobile number.
  • An online written test will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, 26/11/2020.
  • A Google Meet Link for the written test will be sent to all qualified candidates on the evening of 25/11/2020. Candidates can log in for the written test from 11:15 AM onwards on 26/11/2020. Kindly log in through Google Chrome, and not Firefox.
  • The test will consist of an essay on a topic, that will be announced at 11:30 AM. Exactly half an hr will be provided for writing the essay in a Word document. It should be converted into PDF and sent to pgisocialworker@gmail.com within 5 mins after the end of the allotted time for writing the essay.
  • The responsibility of ensuring Internet connectivity, conversion right into PDF and emailing it to the correct email address lies entirely with the applicant.
  • Based on the essay, candidates will be shortlisted for the interview and will be informed by email.
  • ONLINE INTERVIEW DATE AND TIME: 3 PM onwards on Friday, 27/11/2020. A Google meet link will be sent by email and WhatsApp to those shortlisted for the interview. Timeslots for the interview will be provided.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for the interview.

Emoluments: Rs. 55,440 monthly as per project guidelines (inclusive of HRA).

Essential Qualification:

  1. First-class Masters degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university with 4 years of research experience, OR.
  2. 2nd class MSc AND PhD in Life Sciences from a recognized university with 4 years research experience, OR.
  3. BDS degree recognized by DCI with 5 years of research experience.

Job Description:

  • This is an exciting and challenging position that will involve coordinating a multi-centric project.
  • May entail outstation travelling. Good communication & organizational skills are desirable.
