Name of the Project: DBT- IYBA project entitled “Understanding hormonal regulation of root growth plasticity to increase plant productivity under low nitrogen availability in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)” under the DBT-IYBA 2018 scheme

Name of the PI: Dr Amar Pal Singh

Emoluments: Emoluments based on DST/DBT standards and as sanctioned in the project.

How to Apply:

The Fellowship amount for the above position goes to par with similar fellowships by DBT/DST. The above position is entirely on a short-term basis with a maximum period of three years. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based upon the performance of the candidate and also discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to choose the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications as well as experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts will be as per Govt. of India norms. The position might be ended whenever by giving a month notification by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any kind of regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible applicants might apply for the interview by sending out a soft copy of duly filled application form, with scanned copies of all the certifications and mark sheets (from class X onwards) and proof of research experience/publications. A single pdf file, consisting of application from cover letter, and all documents, must be sent to amar@nipgr.ac.in latest by December 05 2020. A web-link with date and time of online interview will be e-mailed to the shortlisted candidates.

All candidates have to ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.

Essential Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biochemistry or equivalent are eligible for interview. Candidate having prior work experience in plant molecular biology, plant tissue culture (tomato), protein expression in bacteria is highly desirable.


For Post II

Essential Qualification: Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 55% marks) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biochemistry or equivalent are eligible for interview. Candidate having prior work experience in plant molecular biology, plant tissue culture (tomato), protein expression in bacteria is highly desirable.
