Post I

Name of Position: Senior Research Fellow

Name of the Project: NIPGR Short term research fellowship.

Emoluments: Emoluments based on DST/DBT norms and also as sanctioned in the project.


Post II

Name of Position: Research Associate-I

No. of Posts: (1 post)

Name of the Project: DBT project entitled “Genome engineering to upscale the  production of a broad spectrum anti-fungal protein Bg_9562 in Escherichia coli”.

Emoluments: as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.


Post III

Name of Position: Research Associate-II

No. of Posts: (1 post)

Name of the Project: DBT Flagship Project entitled “Imparting sheath blight disease tolerance in rice”.

Emoluments: as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.

How to Apply:

The above positions are completely on a short-term basis as well as co-terminus with the project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above positions are as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST standards. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier, as well as the same, can be curtailed/ extended on the basis of an assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to choose the candidate against the above post relying on the qualification and also experience of the applicant. Reservation of posts will be based on Govt. of India standards. The appointment might be ended any time by giving one-month notification by either side. The candidates will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any type of regular position of NIPGR.

Qualified applicants might apply by sending a soft copy with e-mail in the given format with a cover letter showing interest together with self- attested soft copies of the mark-sheets, certificates, (from Class X onwards) and proof of research experience/publications. A single pdf file, containing application form cover letter, and all documents, have to be sent to jmsgopal@nipgr.ac.in within 15 days from the date of advertisement. A web-link with the date as well as the time of on-line interview will certainly be e-mailed to the shortlisted candidates. The applicants have to ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will certainly not be interviewed.

For Post I

Essential Qualification: Candidates chosen with National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z -08/ 2018 dated January 30, 2019. Applicants having M.Sc./ M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/ Agriculture/Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/Bioinformatics or equivalent and minimum of two years of post-M.Sc./ M.Tech research experience are eligible for interview. Applicant having prior experience in the area of Plant tissue culture as well as plant-microbe interactions as well as having relevant publication will certainly be preferred.


For Post II

Eligibility: Candidates having PhD degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or a related field are qualified to apply. Applicants having M.Tech in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics with three years post-M. Tech research experience and one research publication can also apply as mentioned in DST office memorandum number SR/S9/Z -08/ 2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having research experience in the area of molecular biology, protein purification, functional genomics will certainly be favoured.


For Post II

Eligibility: Applicants having PhD degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or a related field are eligible to apply. Candidates having M.Tech in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics with three years post-M. Technology research experience and also one research publication can likewise apply as mentioned in DST office memorandum number SR/S9/Z -08/ 2018 dated January 30, 2019. Applicants having research experience in the area of molecular biology, functional genomics, bioinformatics, genomics-assisted breeding duly supported with relevant publications will be preferred.
