WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

For Post I

Position: Senior Project Associate

No of Posts: 01

Name of the Project: “Conservation Management of Elephants in Chhattisgarh: Capacity building initiative on the dispersal and ranging patterns of elephants for effective management of Human-Elephant interactions”

Age: Not exceeding 40 years as of the date of the interview.

Duration: One year


For Post II

Position: Project Associate II

No of Posts: 01

Name of the Project: “Conservation Management of Elephants in Chhattisgarh: Capacity building initiative on the dispersal and ranging patterns of elephants for effective management of Human-Elephant interactions”

Age: Not exceeding 35 years as of the date of the interview.

Duration: One year

How to Apply:

  1. The selection of the candidates will certainly be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the Interview Committee. All original documents need to be produced at the time of the interview. The decision of the Institute’s Committee in all matters relating to qualification, work experience, acceptance, or rejection of the application will be final as well as binding on the candidates, and also no inquiry or correspondence will certainly be entertained from any type of individual.
  2. The candidates are required to submit their completed application forms in PDF format, with accompanying attachments, by e-mail (with the subject line: “Conservation Management of Elephants in Chhattisgarh: Capacity building initiative on the dispersal and ranging patterns of elephants for effective management of Human-Elephant interactions” to registrarpr@wii.gov.in not behind 1700 hrs on 20th March 2021.
  3. Application forms need to be typed according to the prescribed format and also have to be accompanied by ( a) Scanned copies of educational qualifications, and (b) Scanned copies of experience letter/ certificate, failing which applications will certainly not be considered.
  4. The applications received after the deadline will be rejected by the Institute.
  5. The shortlisted applicants will certainly be notified (via email and website notification) for an on-line personal interview by 31st March 2021. The online interview will certainly be held on 02nd April 2021 from 1000 hrs onwards. The selection will certainly be made based upon the online personal interview set up on 02nd April 2021.
  6. At the time of verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has actually been made by the candidate to wilfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will not be considered.
  7. The positions advertised are purely short-term/ contractual for the project duration only and also will certainly stand abolished after completion of the project.
  8. The period in the project will certainly be governed by the Institute’s guidelines as well as policies.
  9. Relaxation in Age will be given based on the Govt. of India norms.
  10. After the announcement of the results, the applicant ought to join the project immediately.
  11. Director, WII reserves the right to reject any kind of candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason thereof.

For Post I

Essential Qualification: Minimum 0f 60 % Marks in M.Sc. in Life Science and also other biological sciences with a minimum of 3 years of research experience in the field of wildlife conservation.

Desirable Qualification: Preference will certainly be given to applicants with prior experience of working on elephant/other herbivore or carnivore, publication on the subject ability to work under harsh field conditions.

Work Description: The Job involves extensive fieldwork consisting of radio tracking of collared elephants, liasioning with the office of Chhattisgarh Forest Department, training frontline staff in elephant ecology, behavior as well as radio tracking, generate scientific information for the project, data analysis as well as report writing.

Emoluments: Rs. 42000/- + HRA.


For Post II

Essential Qualification: Minimum of 60 % Marks in M.Sc. in Life Science and also other biological sciences.

Desirable Qualification: Preference will certainly be given to candidates willing to carry out rigorous fieldwork under harsh conditions. Prior experience of working in another research project including herbivore/carnivores will be an added advantage.

Work Description: The Project fellow will help the Project Associate in radio-collaring, field data collection as well as conducting capacity building program for frontline staff of the Chhattisgarh Forest Department.

Emoluments: Rs. 35000/- + HRA.
