Senior Research Fellow (SRF) & Research Scientist vacancy in Metabolic Engineering Group

Researchers from microalgae, microbiology, plant biology and also biochemistry background are required for metabolic engineering of algal cells to enhance productivity. The grants are supported by the Government of India funding agency and Private sector to contribute in the thrust area of algal bioenergy as well as bioremediation utilizing innovative synthetic biological approaches.

Duration: 1-2 years

Educational Qualification:

  • Eligibility for SRF: MSc/MTech in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with NET/GATE
  • Eligibility for Research Scientist/RA-III: PhD in Life Sciences/Biotechnology

Prior experience: Wet laboratory and also molecular biology research experience utilizing

microorganisms and algae.

Job nature: In-silico designing of vectors, DNA cloning, Genetic transformation of microorganisms, PCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR, GC-MS, Southern blot analysis, DNA sequencing, outdoor cultivation of algae in photobioreactors, and also in-vitro maintenance of transgenic algal cultures etc.
