NAME OF THE POST: Research Associate

NAME OF THE PROJECT: “Design and synthesis of novel iminosugar variants and their cationic amphiphiles as antiviral therapeutics against Dengue Virus (DENV)”

NAME OF THE PI: Dr E Sreekumar

AGE: Below 35 years as on October 23 2020. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

DURATION: Three years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier.

Selection Procedure:

Suitably qualified candidates might send out applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, complete resume indicating the percentage of marks obtained as well as copies of credentials and experience to reach the undersigned only via E-Mail on or before October 23, 2020. Application in addition to all supporting documents must be submitted as a single PDF file to pmdjobs@rgcb.res.in. The Advertisement number in addition to the position for which the applicant is applying need to be mentioned in the ‘SUBJECT’ part of the Email. If a candidate desires to apply for different positions, separate application forms ought to be submitted for each and every position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any kind of future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co-terminus with the end of the project.

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need to apply. Applicants will certainly be shortlisted for the selection interview based on eligibility criteria. Selection of suitable applicants will be made based on qualifications as well as performance in the selection interview.

No TA/DA/Other emoluments will certainly be given for appearing in the interview.

FELLOWSHIP: Rs. 47,000 plus 16 percent HRA pm. An annual increment as per DBT guidelines.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ph.D. in life sciences; or MD/MS/MDS; or having 3 years of research experience after MVSc or MPharm or MTech.
  2. Documented experience of a minimum of one year in culturing and maintaining mammalian cells for applicants without a medical degree.
  3. Documented experience in working with human viruses (ideally Dengue virus or other mosquito-borne viruses) or infectious human clinical samples.
  4. Willingness to work with human pathogens in bio-safety containment facilities.
  5. Quality publication/s as first or corresponding author in peer-reviewed, SCI-indexed journals of prestige.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in carrying out small animal experiments, especially utilizing mice.
