Note 1: The earlier nomenclatures for the position of Project Associate–I is Project Assistant level II & Project-JRF and for that of Senior Project Associate is Project-RA.

Note 2: The above age limitations are relaxable for candidates of statutory groups (SC/ST/OBC/ PWD) based on Govt. of India/ CSIR instructions on the subject.

After receipt of applications, the screening will certainly be done as well as the eligible applicants will certainly be shortlisted and they will be informed the date of interview to their respective mail address to attend an on-line interview for selection. The engagement will certainly be originally for a duration of six months, which might be extended or curtailed relying on the duration of the tenure of the sponsored project/ satisfactory performance or conduct of the fellow, probably. The engagement will be totally on a short-term basis for the sponsored projects as well as does not entitle him/ her for the CSIR/ IICT permanent position.

For Post I

Essential Qualifications: PhD in Biochemistry or related areas

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in Recombinant protein expression and purification in mammalian cells

Stipend: Rs. 56,000 plus HRA


For Post II

Essential Qualifications: PhD in Biotechnology

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in advanced microbial technique

Stipend: Rs. 47,000 plus HRA


For Post III

Essential Qualifications: MTech in Biotechnology

Desirable Qualifications: 2-3 years of research experience in Microbiology/ Biotechnology. Also, working experience in microbial product production/ characterization and bio-analytical techniques.

Stipend: Rs. 35,000 consolidated


For Post IV

Essential Qualifications: MSc in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Environmental Science/ Molecular Microbiology with 2 years of research experience in Microalgae cultivation,

waste water treatment and biomass valorization

Stipend: Rs. 35,000 plus HRA.


For Post IV

Essential Qualifications: MSc in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Microbiology

Desirable Qualifications: Research experience in Microbiological techniques/wastewater treatment.

Stipend: Rs. 31,000 plus HRA.


For Post V

Essential Qualifications: MSc Microbiology / Biotechnology

Desirable Qualifications: 1-year research experience in handling yeast and micro algal cultures

Stipend: Rs. 25,000 consolidated

* Fellowship amount is applicable for NET/GATE/GPAT or various other nationwide eligible tests as per new CSIR standards. If suitable students are not found, the fellowship amount will be 25,000/- plus HRA.
