Job responsibilities:
- Recombinant DNA technology (Isolation of DNA, Transformation, Selection, Recombination, Restriction digestion).
- Cloning of genes, expression as well as purification of proteins.
- Using E. coli and also insect cell expression systems for the expression of recombinant protein targets.
- Purifying the target protein utilizing various chromatographic techniques.
- Characterization of the expressed recombinant proteins.
- Cell culture, Stable cell line generation in mammalian cells as well as confirmation with western blotting, ELISA etc.
- Setting up crystallization screens for various conditions and also temperatures.
Qualifications: M.Sc (Microbiology/Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Biophysics/ Biochemistry).
Desirable Abilities:
- Good scientific knowledge concerning the basics of the production of proteins for Enzymatic assay and structural work.
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
