CONTRACTUAL ENGAGEMENT OF PROJECT PERSONNEL IN THE NRCD-WII

PROJECT “ASSESSMENT OF THE ECOLOGICAL STATUS OF SELECT INDIAN

RIVERS FOR CONSERVATION PLANNING”

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier autonomous Institute under the Ministry of

Environment, Forest & Climate Change, and also Government of India, in the field of wildlife research, teaching as well as training. The Institute plans to engage project personnel (Indian nationwide only) in the above-mentioned project on a purely contractual basis, initially for a 1 year period from the date of engagement that can be extended depending upon the candidate’s performance as well as the programme needs

for an additional duration up to 2 years. The project aims to assess the ecological status of Narmada, Mahanadi, Godavari, Cauvery, Periyar and Barak rivers for conservation planning. The work description, essential and desirable qualifications, age (as on date of advertisement) and the consolidated monthly emoluments for the required position is given in Appendix 1. The upper age limits for all posts can be relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST/Women/ Physically Challenged as well as 3 years for OBC candidates.

The selection will certainly be made on the basis of online written test followed by personal interview. The on-line written test will be conducted via an outsourced company. Candidates ought to submit their applications online at the site www.wii.gov.in. Each applicant can apply at the most for 2 positions only. Application fees of Rs. 1000/- will need to be deposited on-line for each application. Candidates coming from SC, ST and also Physically Challenged category need to pay only Rs. 200/- as communication fees. Payment can be made by means of Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card via our on-line secured payment gateway.

The registration portal for the test will certainly remain open for a duration of one month from the date of issue of the advertisement. The on-line written test is likely to be held on 31st January 2021. The personal interview is likely to be held after 15th February 2021. The candidates qualified in the written test will certainly be notified via our site (www.wii.gov.in) and e-mail for the personal interview.

The written test will be of one-hour duration with 25 objective type questions of 2 mark each (Total 50 marks) covering subjects pertaining to general aptitude and also an essay (around 300 words in English or in Hindi Languages) on the subject-specific domain (20 marks). The personal interview will certainly be of 30 marks. The written test will certainly be conducted on-line as well as the personal interview will certainly be conducted via Video conferencing. The selection for PMU 6 (Storekeeper) will be based on personal interview only.

Candidates are required to submit the needed certifications in support of their candidature such as age, educational qualification as well as work experience, at the time of on-line registration. All original documents/certificates have to be produced at the time of joining for necessary verification. If there will certainly be any kind of discrepancy in the document sent at the time of verification, the selection of the candidate will certainly be cancelled.

The written test is of qualifying nature and also only the shortlisted applicants will certainly be called for the personal interview. The final selection of the applicant will certainly be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the Interview Committee. Depending on the number of applicants, 5 applicants for each position will certainly be called for a personal interview.

The decision of the Director, WII in all matters relating to qualification, work experience, acceptance or rejection of the application, mode of selection will be final and also binding on the candidates as well as no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual or his/her agency. At the time of the verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the candidate to on purpose conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will certainly not be considered. A separate declaration form will have to be sent via an online application system.

How to Apply:

  1. The procedure for registration as well as written test is “On-line”. Details for online registration as well as written test will certainly be hosted on the WII’s website (www.wii.gov.in). The on-line link for registration is https://services2.armezo.com/wiircnctest/reg/.
  2. The online registration procedure will certainly open for a duration of one month from the date of issue of the advertisement.
  3. All eligible interested candidates are advised to follow the latest updates on the WII’s website (www.wii.gov.in) for online registration, submission of application and also payment of application processing fee, etc.
  4. Candidates will be required to fill out their personal, educational as well as professional experience profiles on-line besides uploading a recent passport size photograph. Candidates will certainly make the payment of application processing fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) via the prescribed ” Payment Gateway”. Applicants coming from SC, ST and Physically Challenged category need to pay only Rs. 200/- as communication fees.
  5. Applicants need to mention the Project name as well as Position applied for in their applications.
  6. Applicants can make an application for a maximum of 2 positions and pay the fee for each position.
  7. The written test will certainly be conducted on-line. The personal interview will certainly be conducted via Video conferencing.

Note: The on-line registration procedure will open on December 14th 2020 and also closes on January 13th 2021.

Position: Project Associate-I (Conservation Genetics – Fish)

No of Posts: 01

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Wildlife Science / Zoology/ Life Science/ Biotechnology or related subjects with ≥1-year experience in the relevant field.

Desirable Qualification: Experience of genetic study of aquatic species, such as turtles,

fishes.

Work Description: Candidates will collect samples from field and assist the scientists for genetic analysis and report writing.

Emoluments: 32000

Age: 35 Years


Post II

Position: Project Associate-I (Conservation Genetics – Herpetofauna)

No of Posts: 01

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Wildlife Science / Zoology/ Life Science/ Biotechnology or related subjects with ≥1-year experience in the relevant field.

Desirable Qualification: Experience of genetic study of aquatic species, such as turtles,

fishes.

Work Description: Candidates will collect samples from field and assist the scientists for genetic analysis and report writing.

Position: Project Associate-I (Ecotoxicology)

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Botany/ Wildlife Science / Life Science or related subjects with ≥1-year experience in the relevant field.

Desirable Qualification: Experience in aquatic vegetation research/aquatic habitat

monitoring/ wildlife research/ conservation

Work Description: Candidates will carry out field sampling for biodiversity profiling and assessing various Environmental parameters.

Work Description: Candidate will assist the Project Scientist/ Associate in creation of spatial database and other lab works. Conduct field work, when required for spatial modeling.

projects.
