Name of the Project: “A Study for assessing the functioning and efficacy of Tiger Conservation Foundations (TCFs)”

Age: Shall not be more than 35 years.

How to Apply:

  1. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories might be relaxed according to the government rules.
  2. The candidate needs to send out a duly filled application form (Annexure-1) to the Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehra Dun, 248002 by 30th December. The Selection will be on the basis of interview. The selection of the applicants will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and also in order of merit as determined by the Interview Committee.
  3. The application needs to be in the prescribed format, with self-attested copies of documents on educational qualifications, extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations, community certification (if sought relaxation based on Government of India rules), etc.
  4. The Date of Interview will certainly be 8th January 2021.
  5. If selected, after that the candidate will certainly have to provide original documents for verification at the time of joining.
  6. At the time of the verification of original documents or perhaps after selection, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to willfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, such an application will certainly be rejected, as well as due action will certainly be taken against the candidate.
  7. The application can be downloaded from the institute’s website www.wii.gov.in.
  8. No TA/DA will be given to the applicant to attend the interview.
  9. The Director WII, reserves the right to reject any kind of candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the applicant or for any other reason thereof.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Forest Management/ Biodiversity/ Life Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Management/ Social Sciences as well as a related subject with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized University.

Desirable Qualification: Candidate( s) with prior experience of social surveys, knowledge of basic soft-wares, computer skills, report writing as well as GIS will certainly be preferred. Able to undertake field visits and carry out surveys in different PAs. Ought to have excellent communication skills.

Work Description:

  • Carrying out field surveys on various aspects of TCFs and tiger reserves with questionnaire-based interviews as well as focused group discussions with Forest Officials & staff, Technical staff of TCFs, community representatives and also various other stakeholders.
  • Organizing meetings, workshops or training.
  • Compilation and also analysis of data, drafting of the project report as well as any other associated task.
  • Some field visits to chosen Tiger Reserves located in different landscapes of India will be required.

Emoluments: Rs. 21,000/- consolidated per month
