We are looking to hire a Research Exec based in Bangalore:

The Human Microbiome S&T Platform in BPC R&D works on delivering new technologies and also generating novel insights in the microbiome space throughout “c” categories in Beauty and also Personal Care (BPC). The successful applicant will work on the thrust areas of screening novel, broad-spectrum/ targeted antimicrobials as well as finding synergies with a key focus on delivering superior hygiene benefits with a wide portfolio of products. This work is critical in the evaluation of technologies in addition to a mechanistic understanding of host-microbe crosstalk for a balanced microbiome. One of the key areas within the program is to build the next-generation hygiene capabilities which will deliver extended germ-protection and protection between applications.

This role will focus on acquiring as well as performing the following responsibilities:

  • The applicant is expected to have expertise in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, as well as Cell Biology methods and, have good hands-on experience including electronic data capture, data analysis, and presentation of data.
  • Have to be able to work in BSL2 lab to carry out experiments in Virology.
  • Design, develop as well as validate genomics-based methods for understanding the microbiome.
  • Interpret data, bringing in brand-new scientific advances with agility. Communicate scientific results with technological reports and also presentations.
  • Management of outsourcing services via an audit of 3P
  • Interact within the project team, with associates and also other Unilever teams to translate insights to technologies and also move the projects forward.
  • Engage with external labs (academic/ 3P) to generate scientific insights or outsource routine analysis and co-ordinate to guarantee excellent data generation

Key Requirements:

  • M.Sc. in any discipline in Biosciences, experience in handling viruses will certainly be an advantage
  • 1-3 years of research experience in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or Virology either via industrial or academic research.
  • Hands-on experience in Microbiology as well as Molecular Biology is compulsory.
  • Hands-on experience in Cell Biology as well as Virology preferable
  • Experience in data validation and also documentation.
  • Sound knowledge in the basic data processing software.
  • Ought to be a team player and also have good communication skills.
  • Very well organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic and also confident.
