Application for the position of Data Manager in Clinical Trials Unit at TTCRC (Tata Medical Center)

The Position As a data manager, you will certainly work alongside the Unit Manager as well as CRU colleagues to support CRU’s research studies. This role will involve interaction with clinical departments, coordination of clinical study visits of enrolled and potential study patients, coordination of activities associated with clinical studies (such as study consent, sharing of study-related information, collection of material for tissue banking, preparing treatment plans as well as protocols in discussion with the investigators), maintenance of source documents, recording information associated to study patients (including information on diagnostic studies, study eligibility, treatment details, treatment response, follow up), management of study spreadsheets, recording and also reporting study-related adverse events, to name a few. In due course, you will be involved in projects and associated sub-studies where you will have the opportunity to both learn and also apply abilities in data analysis, interpretation and also writing. Your activities will be guided by the principles of Good Clinical Practice for research studies, including maintaining data privacy as well as confidentiality, guaranteeing safe secure data storage and also guaranteeing completeness as well as the accuracy of data. The CRU’s research operations are critically dependent on the spirit of team play, adaptability, willingness to learn, commitment to duties as well as responsibilities as well as a constant awareness that the mission and purpose of TTCRC are in the service of patients and families.

Appointment, Line Management and Salary:

The post is funded by a grant from the National Cancer Grid, supplemented by the institutional grant. Line management will certainly be provided by the CRU Manager. The appointment will be for an initial 3 years. The first year is probationary. Confirmation of continued appointment after the first year and progress and salary increments via Years 2 as well as 3 will certainly be determined by an annual appraisal process. Additional performance appraisals might be scheduled where suitable. The salary scale for the position is INR 25,000/ month to 33,000/ month (consolidated). The salary start point on this scale will certainly be influenced by the experience and qualification of the candidate.

Minimum required qualifications/experience

(a) MSc in Biological Sciences

(b) Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel

(c) Experience in working with a data set

Necessary qualities

(a) Integrity, motivation, enthusiasm

(b) Focus and commitment in carrying out tasks and duties

(c) Critical analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of independent work

(d) Ability to work successfully as part of a multidisciplinary team

(e) The clarity in career and professional development goals.

Desired qualities

(a) Clinical data handling and basic data analysis

(b) Familiarity with basic statistics

(c) Clinical Trials experience

Appointment and reporting

Appointment to the position will at first be for 3 (three) years. The very first year is probationary. Confirmation in the position and progression to years 2 and 3 is subject to satisfactory review of performance through periodic appraisals of performance. Appraisals will also determine salary increments and promotions. The consolidated monthly salary is INR 25,000. The successful applicant will be managed by the CTU manager.
